Hello,

I am migrating my site from Joomla3 to Joomla4. Maya template version on J3 is 1.0.3. When I upload the J4 version (1.0.0) and try to install it, the system says you cannot downgrade. Apparently it's thinking I'm downgrading the template from 1.0.3 to 1.0.0, without taking into account the fact that they are J3 & J4 versions resp!

How do I fix this issue. Do check the attached screenshot for the error I see when J3-1.0.3 version is active on the J4 system

thanks,
makarand

I had some of these issues before and I solved it this way:
Before migrating to J4 I set to protostar as default template and disable the j51 template (in extensions/manage)

  • After the migration to J4 I deleted the complete j51_templatename/html folder (take care of overwrites if you have some)
  • Than I installed the new J4 version of the same template and activated it again.
  • Then set it to default.

The reason is that the J4 version will install in the same template folder as the J3 version. But the HTML folder is not deleted so you have new template but some folders maybe from former J3 version. That can cause errors. Thats our experience.

Perhaps this could help?

Thank you

Regarding the first issue (ARGUMENT 1 PASSED TO JOOMLA...), this issue appears to be not related to your template as the issue is also present with the default Joomla template. Maybe try recreating the contact.

The table issue appears to be caused by some of your custom CSS in your template style settings. Clearing this field resolves the issue.I believe the rules causing the issue are the following...

.cat-list-row0 {
float: left;
width: 25%;
text-align: center;
}

.cat-list-row1 {
float: left;
width: 25%;
text-align: center;
}

Hello Oliver and Ciaran,

I have followed Oliver's steps and reinstalled the components. Many of our issues got fixed (table alignment and missing pages), but the contact us page and search bar are still having issues ( we have removed custom CSS). Also the J51 Slideshow on the home page is still not functioning as intended, and the banner image on top of the navbar is not working. The credentials we have shared with ou are still valid. Please assist us in this matter.

Regards
