Hello Ciaran,

I am still in the learning stages here.. and have researched some items regarding extensions that I am installing to a couple of my Joomla51 templates. One Template I am still using to design is Privilege (although my file under purchases has J51 classic.. it should be Privilege). Anywho, I recently updated my version of Joomla to 3.4. When I purchase Joomla51 templates will they also update?

In addition do you know if any of Joomla51 templates conflict with any Joomla extensions? eg., Jquery conflict, etc. I ask because I often consume a lot of time trying to get extensions to work with the templates, and have to get the developers involved. SO time consuming.. have difficult time utilizing extensions installed via JED. I want to ensure there is no special code in Joomla51 templates that will interfere with the installation of any extensions.

For example, I've had problems with some widgets, social media items and module anywhere. Maybe you can shed some light on this for me.. Thanks

April

Hi April

With the exception of some styling issues on the frontend module editing screen, you should have no issues with your template and Joomla 3.4. The styling issue has been amended on the latest download of the template.

Your original purchase allowed access to the template for 3 months. As we have since changed our policy to lifetime access for single template purchases, I have added the template back to your account. The 'Classic' template is a free download available to all Joomla51 users.

All template jQuery runs in no conflict mode so you should have no issue jQuery/mootool confllcts. There is no way we can test with every extension however we have ensured to follow best practice to avoid any conflicts.

Ciaran,

Thanks so much for your reply. I had no idea about the limited access of previously purchased templates. Thanks so much for adding Privilege back to my list of purchases.

Re: your comment "With the exception of some styling issues on the frontend module editing screen, you should have no issues with your template and Joomla 3.4. The styling issue has been amended on the latest download of the template."

What does this mean for me and privilege. Is there a way you can check my privilege home page via back end to see if maybe there is an issue with a Social Media extension I have been trying for a week to make work? The developer says, they tried on their end and it works.. but on my end, after following their step by step instructions.. it still does not appear as it should.

Please advise.. Thanks

Hi April

Your issue is in no way related to the styling issue mentioned. Joomla 3.4 allows users to edit modules from the frontend of your site. If you intend to use this features then I would suggest installing the latest update of the template. If not then there is no need.

Ciaran,

This takes me back to another former question. If I install the updated version will it overwrite all of the work I've done? Thanks

Hi April

The core templates will be replaced (../templates/[YourTemplate]/**/*) however all style settings will (Extensions -> Template Manager).
