Hello,

I've just tried validating (http://validator.w3.org) a site of mine using the Clarity template, and it is reporting it as XHTML, not HTML5 as I was expecting.

However, another site using the BOSS template is coming up as HTML5.

As I don't want to waste time on any non-HTML5 templates - please could you let me know which templates comform to HTML5 please?

Many thanks.

Hello

Are you referring to the template doctype or just if the markup of the template is using HTML5 elements?

Hi Ciarán,

Just if the markup is HTML5 compliant please?

Thank you for your help.

Hello

It would not really be a valid question. This question would be asked of your browser compatibility but not of your HTML. The amount of HTML5 markup used in the template is minimal.

Hi Ciarán,

Please could you help me understand your answer after looking at this please:

http://validator.w3.org/

Once I create an empty Joomla 3.x site and apply a joomla51 tempate, I am getting XHTML reported.

I can only attribute this to the template, as, 'other' templates are scoring HTML5.

I just need to be able to Validate my websites using this tool.

Any advice towards this would be gratefully received, thanks.

Ah ok... I understand.

These are standard validation issues and not specific to HTML5 markup. We will go through all our templates over the next few days and fix any issues. Is there a particular template you are having issues with?

Thank You.

I've just updated 'Clarity' and re-checked with the w3c - HTML5 success!

Great :) Thank you for the update.

All templates have been updated and should now validate!
