I am trying to build a multilanguage site with the virtuoso template and I have a problem with the hornav position.

First I build three differnt menues for the differnt languages and one hidden menu for the starting page: The hidden menu has no module position assigned:

But I will get in the hornav position the hidden menu :S : If I assign the "real" menu to the hornav position ( I have done it with the english menu) the menu is not shown

c.ch/index.php/">Link to the test Site

Whats going wrong ? How can I fix it ?

For me it seems to be a problem of the template. I have created in the meantime an "all-language" menu with three menu items. This works fine at the footermenu or sidecol-a position but not at the hornav position.

Hi Axel

As the top menu is set from within the templates parameters instead of using a menu module the method used would change slightly. Rather than creating a menu module for each of your languages you will create a template style.

Select a Template style in your 'Template Manager' (Eg. Virtuoso - Default) and duplicate it for each language you want. In each of the styles then select the menus to be displayed for that language. You can then set that template style to the langauge via the 'Languages' dropdown or by assigning the correct menu items via the 'Menu Assignment' tab.

Hi Ciarán

Thanks for your answer. I was not looking in the template parameters for that, it is for me unusual :dry:. But this means that I have to manage for each template the parameters, if I change eg the Custom CSS Code I have to do it for each template.The change of the language is than also only possible with the language selctor and no more with the flags ?

Your description for the mobile devices are not working. Do you have also a longer description for understanding that

I still have another problem, it seems that the level of the logo-text area is higher than the menues

Where can I define best the z-level ?

Hi Axel

An alternative solution would be to convert the top menu to a module position. You can then create a menu module for each of your languages. An option to so is available within your templates parameters under 'Menus'. I would recommend updating your template to the latest version first. Re download the template and install via yoru Extensions Manager to update. No settings will be lost.

Updating the template should resolve your logo-text issue.

Hi Axel

1. To center your footer menu try adding the follwoing to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters...

#footermenu .module_margin {
text-align: center;
}
#footermenu ul {
display: inline-block;
}

2. This issue will be amended with the update of your tempalte.

Hi Ciarán

Thanks, it's working fine. We have bought also the new version of the template and it seems tha the other two problems are solved.

But I have now a new problem :S , the language flags are disappeared. It was working fine with the old version but after the update they are gone. I have done it according your description.(I found it meanwhile, the header.php was overwritten)
Furthermore, is it possible to change the location of the mobile menu: right oriented with a withe backround above the logo is IMHO not so sexy.

Hello

Could you try adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters...

.slicknav_menu {
background: none repeat scroll 0 0 rgba(0, 0, 0, 0) !important;
margin-top: -60px;
position: relative;
top: 70px;
z-index: 99;
}
.slicknav_menu .slicknav_btn {
float: left;
margin-left: 60px
}
