Hi,

I bought the Piano Forte theme back in November 2013 and love it, but have reached the stage where I could use some support.

Firstly - the control panel shows that 'Joomla is up to date', but it is running version 3.2.0. As a software engineer and ex-sysadmin of a web host, I know how dangerous out-of-date PHP software can be so I'm keen to know if it is possible to update Joomla, but I wouldn't want to risk breaking the site or template (various update-related menu options already result in Joomla reporting MySQL syntax errors). Is this upgrade something you can help me with?

Also, I have some basic questions about how it might be possible to make better use of the template to lay content out. Of course I am able to experiment with the features exposed by Joomla and the template, but I wonder if the template author may be able to provide some direction on the best ways to go about, say, laying content out within a grid without needing to insert my own HTML.

Is this one-to-one support something you offer? I don't think it would take very long for someone who knows what they're doing (I'm technical, but a Joomla novice) and I would be more than happy to pay for it of course. Alternatively I'm more than happy to open up a couple of forum topics with specific details about the issues I'm facing.

Cheers,
Chris

Hi Chris

Regarding your Joomla version issue may I suggest navigating to Extensions -> Extensions Manager -> Fix

I am not sure if I understand your query correctly. By default module positions are set to an equal width based grid. An option is available to create manual widths for each position via the templates parameters if you so wish. How you lay out your content is very much based on personal taste and would be difficult to advise on. Is there a particular 'look' you are trying to achieve with your template?
