Hallo, I am considering of purchasing the Oxygen template. I first tried the free template, but I had a small problem.

I have installed the Oxygen Template, and the Slideshow. But On the top of the page
are showing the following messages

Strict Standards: Non-static method JSite::getMenu() should not be called statically, assuming $this from incompatible context in C:\xampp\htdocs\Joomla\templates\j51_oxygen\php\variables.php on line 8

Strict Standards: Non-static method JApplication::getMenu() should not be called statically, assuming $this from incompatible context in C:\xampp\htdocs\Joomla\includes\application.php on line 539

Strict Standards: Only variables should be assigned by reference in C:\xampp\htdocs\Joomla\templates\j51_oxygen\php\variables.php on line 8

Strict Standards: Only variables should be assigned by reference in C:\xampp\htdocs\Joomla\templates\j51_oxygen\php\variables.php on line 9

In addition, some similar messages apear just over the slideshow and above the main menu.

Generally I am new to Joomla, but I didn;t have similar problems, with other templates. What should I do.

Hi George

The issue should amend itself once you upload to your host. In the mean time you can disable error reporting by navigating within your Joomla administration to Site -> Global Configuration -> Server and setting the 'Error Reporting' dropdown to 'Simple'.
