I am having a problem in adding the Lato-LightItalic font to the Sophia Template.

I have tried using Lato+Light+Italic and Lato+LightItalic in the googlefonts.php file but so far it is not working.

Do I need to load that font into the Fonts folder and use CSS code to use.

My client wants to use this font for the entire website.

Thank you for your help.

James

Hi James

Try replacing line 37 of your templates fonts.php (../templates/j51_sophia/inc/fonts.php) with the following...

echo '<link rel="stylesheet" href="//fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=' . $v . ':300,300i,400,500&&subset=' . $font_subset . '" /> ';

Do I also need to install the Lato -LIght-Italic font somewhere in the Sophia template?

Or when I added the font to the Google Fonts php page is there a specific way of entering the lato light italic font name into the php?

Thank you for your help!

Hi James

What type of text would you like to display as italic (eg. paragraphs, H1s, H2s etc.)?

I believe my client would like the entire site for the font.

Just having problems in getting the lato light italic version to setup as an option to select.

I guess if we could force that font on all of the text and heading, he would be alright with that.

Sorry this has been such a pain!

I always appreciate your support! Joomla51 templates are all that I use in my web design business.

Thanks for you help!

Hi James

As with any font, Italic is applied to any text wrapped in an 'i' tag...

<p><i>This text is italic</i></p>

To apply italic to all body text you can add the following to the Custom CSS field of your template settings...

body {
font-style: italic;
}
