Joomla51 templates for J4 work under J5, as long as the compatibility plugin is enabled.
For J6, you either need a J5-native template; at the moment, there are only 3 Joomla51 tagged as J5-native. To use those under J6, you will most probably need the J6 compatibility plugin; I understand that Joomla51 doesn't offer J6-native templates as of now.
