I am using font awesome icons on this site and it seems one of them just doesn't want to load. it's the fa-hard-hat. I double checked and everything is spelling correctly but it displays the wrong icon.

http://bludovedemo.com/moody/

I also need the image on the showcase to be taller when on mobile but not distorted

There seems to be a margin on the right that I can't get rid of that causes the site to scroll to the left.

I'd like to make the Image hover module so that the text displays without hover. Is this possible??

Hello

By default, the Sophia template only includes Font Awesome 4.7 (https://fontawesome.com/v4.7.0/icons/). I believe fa-hard-hat is a Font Awesome 5 icon.

The only way to increase the height of the showcase image without distortion would be to also crop the image, this ok?

To amend the horizontal scroll try adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters (Extensions -> Templates -> [YourTemplateStyle] -> Custom CSS)....

.item-127.deeper.parent ul ul {
right: 100%;
left: auto;
}

To always display the image hover text, you can also add the following...

.j51imagehover92 figcaption {
opacity: 1;
transform: none;
background-color: rgba(0,0,0,.5) !important;
}

Is Sophia still only using Font Awesome 4 icon set? Any chances it will get updated to use FA5? or should I just use the tutorial found in the post you linked to above?

Hello

The latest update to the Sophia template includes a version bump of Font Awesome to version 5. For details on updating your template may I suggest the following article.. https://joomla51.com/tutorials/joomla-basics/updating-your-joomla-template
