Hi Ciaran,

I purchased the template Skylar for J4 and tested it on a test site on Wampserver. I get an error message below the title of each article on the front end. The message doesn’t appear when I use Cassopeia, the default template. Here's the message:

Notice: Undefined property: stdClass::$catslug in E:\Wamp\www\joomla422\templates\j51_skylar\html\layouts\joomla\content\info_block\category.php on line 18”

I tried starting with J3.10.11 and updating the site with J4.2.2, then I installed the J4 template and got the same result as when I start out with a clean J4.2.2 install and then add the template.
See attached files.
Thanks for your help.

Hi Marc

To amend could you try deleting your templates html folder (../templates/[YourTemplate]/html) and then reinstalling your template? There may be some Joomla 3 overrides that are not been removed on install.

Hi Ciaran,

I deleted the html folder and reinstalled the template but the problem remained. By the way, it is a clean J4 install on Wampserver.
Then I tried deleting the file called category.php in the folder \templates\j51_skylar\html\layouts\joomla\content\info_block\category.php and the error message disappeared. Good news!
However I'm still running with other issues now like the title of the article on the front page disappears once I click on it to see the whole article. The j51 news module doesn't seem to work either. There's nothing on the page apart from the title J51_News. It worked fine in J3 version though.
Have similar issues been reported?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Marc

Strange. It is an issue we have not seen before. If you temp rename the ../templates/[YourTemplate]/html folder to html-bak is the issue resolved? Is the issue present if your disable the news module?

Hi Ciaran,

thanks for you reply. When I temp rename the ../templates/[YourTemplate]/html folder to html-bak, the issue remains. If I disable the news module, which doesn't display anything apart from the title J51_News, there's the same issue. When I rename the folder back to html and I publish the news module again, only the title of the news module appears and the issue with the article titles is still there. If I click on any menu entry namely "music" or "stuff" in my case, there's no title for the articles in the blog category.
I tried with the Casseiopia template and there's no title issue with it. The news module doesn't display anything either.
There seems to be two issues, one with the article titles and another one with the news module.
Let me know if you have a solution.
Thanks a lot.

Hi Marc

May I suggest sending temporary administration access to your Joomla installation to info@joomla51.com and we will examine this issue further. For our reference please paste a link to this post in your email.

Hi Ciaran,

I can't really send you the link to temporary administration access since it's a test site on Wamp. The URL is locahost/.... I don't think you'd be able to log in, would you?
I'm going to have to make another test site but this time online. I'll keep you posted once it's up and running.
Thank you for your time and help.

Hi Marc

Unfortunately, there is no easy way for us to access your local Joomla installation. Would you by chance have since been able to replicate these issues on a server-side installation so we can examine this further?

Hi Ciaran,

I made another test site on a NAS server. You should be able to access it now with the information that I'm going to send you at info@joomla51 - site address, administration access.
I added a couple of lines of code in the template CSS to get the articles titles appear after upgrade to J4.2.3. That's solved.
However the main issue I'm trying to deal with now is the J51_News module which doesn't display anything apart from the title. It was running fine in J3.10.11. The news module is the J4 version.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Ciaran,

The issue that I was talking about concerning the J51-News module is still pending. I sent you an access to the website so that you could have a look at that issue. Is there any way you could have a look at the reason why the News module doesn't display anything apart from the title?
Thank you.

Best,
