Hi all,

today, I updated one of my bigger sites to Joomla 5.0.0 (in a test subdomain, of course). Template used is Skylar_J4, V1.1.14.

Apart from some minor issues, the site works fine. Regarding the template, I didn't change anything compared to Joomla 4.4.0.

There is only one thing that should be worked on: There are 17 overrides to be checked.

Hi Ciaran

Maybe you should check for possible security issues. And I don't see anybody other than you can do that.

I'm quite sure that anything else can be neglected.

Hi Rolf

Correct me if I am incorrect on this but I dont believe there is much we can do about these warnings. These override check warnings will appear everytime there is a change to the core module/component views. IN the case of the update from Joomla 4 to 5, there will be quite a few but these warning can also occur with any minor Joomla update.

Hi Rolf

Of course, we will always keep an eye on any security fixes in Joomla core, in case they are related to any of the frontend views. If such an issue does arise then template overrides will need to include such fixes, presuming the risk is also present in the override. In some cases they may not. eg. already removed from the override or simply an override for the offending view does not exist within the template.
