Hi,

Recently I attended a class about SEO Copywriting and what I noted down as one of the most important elements is that all the articles uploaded on a website or blog must first of all have a Heading 1 title.

In one of the templates I use in my website (http://www.gw-wineroutes.com) which is Serenity I noticed that the title of each article is Heading 2 which is negative as I understand as far as SEO Copywriting is concerned as Heading 1 is missing...

Can you please advise?

Best regards,

Eri

Hello Eri,

Having H2-titles is not a great problem, but to have it perfect you can do this.

Another extension that may be of help if you, if you do not want to create overrides, is... https://extensions.joomla.org/extension/aimy-h1-heading/

Hello Ciaran,

I tried the extension you proposed but the result is not nice...:(

Take a look for yourself, i.e. the title Wine souvenirs in the following url...

https://www.gw-wineroutes.com/en/winesouvenirs

An alternative idea maybe:
Instead of using the extension you say is it possible for you to overwrite in the template code the H1 style so it looks the same with H2 and H2 style looks the same with H3 and for H3 create a new style that matches harmoniously with the previous two?

Unfortunately the fact that I do not have H1 titles (and sorry to say it I noticed that in all your templates goes the same) appears to be a serious drawback as far as SEO is concerned...:( :( :(

Please advise..

Best regards,

Eri

Hi Eri

The majority of the views are generated from Joomla core and not the template. Joomlas logic here is the page headings are displayed in H1 and item headings eg. article headings are displayed using H2. The logic makes sense in that the page heading is the dominant heading. Of course, this logic is flawed when page headings are disabled.

How would you like your H1 title to be displayed?

Hello Ciaran,

Is it possible H1 to be displayed exactly as H2?

As H1, H2 and H3 headings are crucial for SEO copywriting I would also suggest that it would help for your future templates to create a typography that would nicely combine the three of them :)

Thank you very much for you kind help!

Best regards,

Eri

Hi Eri

Would you have a URL to an example of your H2 heading?
