Greetings,
I'm building this site:
http://www.vedicastrology.us.com
I don't see a WYSIWIG way to add a search module.
Am I missing something?
I love the ease of this in your other templates.
thanks,
Hope

Hi Hope

Sorry to say the search field is not available in our Virtuoso template. On more recent releases we have replaced this area with a module position to give people the option to add language flags etc but with our Virtuoso we have neither one nor the other :unsure:

May I suggest setting us up with temporary FTP access to the template folder of your Joomla installation and we will add this field for you. Details can be sent info@joomla51.com. For our reference please paste a link to this post in your email along with details on where you would like the field to be positioned.

Thanks Ciarán,
I will send the ftp login now, referencing this topic.

A couple more thoughts:

Shrink your browser window, and look at what happens to the tagline at the top: "With Vedic Astrologer Mickey McKay"

Also, see the arrow icons in the breadcrumbs of the ABOUT MICKEY page

Compare that the to ones on the Vedic Astrology Services page

Are the different arrow styles intentional? I like the ones on the ABOUT MICKEY page.

Thanks,
-Hope

Hi Hope

I have added a search field as requested.

I have also amended your CSS to take care of the pagination issue (CSS clash with a simplecaddy.css?) and edited your responsive CSS for your slogon.

Your slogan is now re positioned on mid size screens and hidden the smallest screen sizes (phone portrait).

Ciarán, thank you again for your help. I see what you mean about the simplecaddy conflict. Good sleuthing. Sorry I missed it.

I'm looking for the "search field". Where is it? I thought maybe you meant you added a position so I looked for that position for a new search module but didn't find one.

I love what you did with the slogan. Perfect!

HI Hope

I placed the search field in the top right area of your template header? Maybe try a full refresh on your browser in case you are loading a cached version of your site?

Oh yes. It was very faint on my Mac. I changed the opacity in CSS
#search .inputbox {
opacity: 1;
}
Sorry for missing it.
Looking good! Thanks so much.

If we ever update the template, what needs to happen?
Also, we're going to add Social Icons and I assume there won't be a conflict?

Hi Ciarán,
Re the same site: http://vedicastrology.us.com/
I added the social icons and they landed underneath the search field. I added some CSS which helped:
div#socialmedia {
margin-top: 20px;
}

We still need some more space below the icons. I tried my best with CSS but kept breaking the template.
Any advice?
thanks,
Hope

Hi Hope

Could you try adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters. This will add 15px to your top spacing height..

#container_header {
height: 95px;
}
#logo {
top: 15px;
}
