Hello! I'm having an issue that's probably personal to this particular site, but...
I'm trying to update the Riley J4 template to what it says on the J51 site is 1.1.8.
I've downloaded that file just this morning and installed via the Extension Installer. This seems to happen as expected, with a confirmation screen that the template has been installed.
However, even after clearing cache (site and browser), checking all the warnings, etc. both the Templates screen and the Extensions Manager still shows the installed template is 1.1.7.

Is this just a file-naming issue or an indication of something larger wrong with my installation?

I've submitted an email to info@ with admin access for you in case you need it.

Hello

May I suggest sending temporary administration access to your Joomla installation to info@joomla51.com and we will examine this issue further. For our reference please paste a link to this post in your email.

Thank you

There does indeed appear to be an issue installing updates to your Joomla installation. It may be related to incorrect permissions on some of your Joomla folders. Are you having similar issues with other extensions?

A possible workaround would be to extract the contents of the template install zip file, in to your template folder, overwriting the original. THis will also update your template for you.
