I have a website located at http://174.121.177.153/~ocularis using the Arkadia template and the demo content which I am in the process of replacing. I replaced the background image with an image of the same size as the demo but the image is apparently affecting the display on smart phones and tablets.

The content is not responsive and is displayed in a narrow band while the background image is filling the width of the screen.

I have made several adjustments to the Responsive settings but nothing seems to help.

Do you have a recommendations for settings and an explanation of why this template is not working correctly on smart phones?

I have installed this template on Joomla 2.5.14.

Thanks,

James

I don't believe the background image to be the issue. To confirm this could I ask you to try the supplied CSS.

Thank you for the css code. If I need to I will try the code.

I may have figured out the issue but you can let me know if I am headed in the wrong direction.

What prompted the issue was adding a different background through the template settings which places the image in the Media Manager.

What I did that appeared to fix the issue was to clear the uploaded image from the template settings.

I then logged into the Cpanel and went to the images folder in the template files and renamed the bg.jpg file to bg_old.jpg and I then renamed the new background image to bg.jpg and uploaded the image using the CPanel.

Should that have fixed the issue?

Thanks for your help.

Hi James

Could you try adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters...

@media only screen and ( max-width: 767px ) {
#header {width:440px !important;}}
@media only screen and (max-width: 440px) {
#header {width:300px !important;}}
