I like the grid gallery a lot (in fact it was one of the reasons to buy the renovate template). Using the modules backend it´s ony possible to link to Menu-Items, which is a quite unpleasant restriction. Is it possible to directy link to an article with a hack? Maybe this would be a good feature for future versions. I guess most people will use this as a teaser for articles and not for menu items.

Hi David

May I suggest sending temporary administration access to your Joomla installation to info@joomla51.com and we will examine this issue further. For our reference please paste a link to this post in your email.

Hi !

I did try this, but I only get this error message:

Error: Call to undefined method Joomla\CMS\Document\ErrorDocument::countModules(): Category not found

I did check twice, Im pretty sure the modifications was alright, but Im using Calibra Grid Gallery (dunno if its suppose to make a difference)

Any idea ? :O

Hi Ciaran
I have tried this solution but I only get a 404-page when clicking the gridgallery.

In the J51Gridgallery wich is in the Habitat template, there is no space to place the Link.
How can i place an external link?

Just after the link (text) you can also set the following: " target="_blank.
In this way, you can leave the image links on the same site and open the textlinks in a new window.

To do so you can replace in the above code...

<a href="/<?php echo $image_url[$cur_img]; ?>" target="<?php echo $target_url[$cur_img]; ?>" >

Replace with..

<a href="/<?php echo $image_url[$cur_img]; ?>" target="_blank" >

Hello

To change the 'menu item' field to a text field allowing you to add the URL of your choice open up your modules mod_j51gridgallery.php (../modules/mod_j51gridgallery/mod_j51gridgallery.xml) and replace each instance of the following....

type="menuitem"

with....

type="text"

In your modules default.php (../modules/j51_gridgallery/tmpl/default.php) try replacing the following (approx. line 126)...

<a href="/<?php echo JRoute::_("index.php?Itemid={$image_url[$cur_img]}") ?>" target="<?php echo $target_url[$cur_img]; ?>" >

with...

<a href="/<?php echo $image_url[$cur_img]; ?>" target="<?php echo $target_url[$cur_img]; ?>" >

You can then add a URL rather than selecting a menu item for each image.
