I would like to reduce the padding between the slideshow module and the main body of text.
Can you assist please.

To amend try adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters (Extensions -> Templates -> [YourTemplateStyle] -> Custom CSS)....

#container_showcase1_modules + #container_main .maincontent {

    padding-top: 0;

}
