Let me start out by saying I have used the free Oxygen template for a number of web sites and have been very pleased with the results. I have, however, come across a problem recently that I am unable to resolve. Specifically, Captcha stopped working on sites where I am using this template. To clarify, the Captcha is no longer appearing.

I am aware Google recently made some changes to their API and broke a few things. The Joomla Community responded quickly to this change and posted a hack/solution (http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=708&;p=3103096 and https://github.com/joomla/joomla-cms/pull/2436/files) that I have applied to my sites. These hacks fixed the issue for all sites _except_ the ones utilizing the Oxygen template. If I switch to a different template, the Captcha appears.

To further test, I performed a clean install of Joomla 3.2 running under WAMP Server, created a dummy contact, enabled the ReCaptcha plugin, entered my Public and Private keys, created a menu item to display the dummy contact and confirmed the Captcha appears. It did. I then downloaded and installed the latest version of the Oxygen template, set it as the default template and refreshed the page. The Contact Form appears but the Captcha does not. I reverted back to the Protostar template, refreshed the page and the Captcha is visible once again.

I suspect there is a simple CSS solution for this, but I have yet to be able to sort it out. As a side note, I have tested with Chrome, IE and Firefox, so this does not appear to be a browser issue.

HELP!

Thank you in advance for any assistance ...

Hi JJ

May I suggest sending temporary administration access to your Joomla installation to info@joomla51.com and we will examine this issue further. For our reference please paste a link to this post in your email.

My client is not comfortable giving a third-party Administrative access to their site -- and I am not either, quite frankly.

I set up a test site that demonstrates the problem. This is a clean installation of Joomla 3.2 and the only modifications performed after installation were to configure and enable Captcha, install the Oxygen template and set it as the default site template.

The two links below should demonstrate the issue fully.

I started to set up an account but was told by my client to not proceed with that.

The two links I provided in my earlier reply demonstrate the problem. The Captcha does not appear when using the Oxygen template.

It the issue still present when using the default Joomla templates (beez3 or prostar)?

Is the issue still present if you disable any SEF URLs?

The issue is not present with Protostar or Beez3.

http://oxygen.kodynet.com/index.php/contact <-- protostar template is the site default

http://oxygen.kodynet.com/index.php/contact?template=j51_oxygen <-- same contact page using the Oxygen template.

I can make the Oxygen template the site default [again] so you can see it the other way, if necessary.

The problem also occurs with SEF turned off.

OK... thank you.

Would it be suitable to allow FTP access to just the Oxygen template folder (../templates/j51_oxygen) ?

Yes, I can do that.

I don't see a method to send a PM to you on the Forum. What is the best way to get creds to you?

We have updated your template to the latest (http://www.joomla51.com/free-templates) and all appears to be now working correctly.

Actually, that is incorrect. When using the newest version of the Oxygen available on your web site (version 1.1, dated 15 Oct 2013), the Captcha still does not work.

I grabbed a copy of the template files from the working site and [painstakingly] compared them, file by file, to the files downloaded from your web site (Windiff, UltraCompare and Beyond Compare helped). Ignoring all file-encoding differences (MAC encoded files ... really?), the template files themselves are identical. I did note three differences in the file structure though.

.\js\mootools125.js
does not exist in the working template

.\js\equalizer.js
does not exist in the working template

.html\pagination.php
does not exist in the broken template

After making the three modifications above to the broken template, the Captcha now works.

Further testing proves that .js\mootools125.js is the cause of the Captcha problem in this template.

Disabling Mootools breaks the drop-down menu.

... it looks like I will be looking for a different template to use.

Thank you for your time.
