Problem in the upgrade of Oxygen free template

I was trying to upgrade to the new version of the Oxygen template due to the three column possibility. But I received an error message and the site become non operational with a message of an internal error. Sorry but a don't captured the screen an returned to the former version. Apparently it happened as Oxygen is now the default template. What is the correct way to do this upgrade?

Hello

You can upgrade the template by installing via your extension manager. Ensure you are installing the correct template for your Joomla version.

Yes, it was exactly what I done... The Joomla is updated and also the database. I got this message after the upgrade:

Warning: require(/***/Joomla/templates/j51_oxygen/php/config.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /***/Joomla/templates/j51_oxygen/index.php on line 12

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/***/Joomla/templates/j51_oxygen/php/config.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/php53/lib/php') in /***/Joomla/templates/j51_oxygen/index.php on line 12
