I just recently developed a website for my customer and we have a small problem with the background, we have tested in IE9 and IE10 and Firefox and the background looks great, yet in IE8 the background only appears behind the menu as an small image and doesn't fill the screen. Any suggestions on how we would fix this issue so that the background is compatible on all versions of Explorer? I am running Joomla version 2.5.11

Hi Yvonne

As IE8 is not fully CSS3 compatible it does not support the background-size:cover property which is used to extend the background of your template to fill your browser window. A possible fix is to extend the size of your background image so it will fill all possible browser window sizes.
