Hi there,

Would really appreciate a little help with the responsive layout for this template.

Site is pretty much built, and the template is working great.

Just two issues I would like help with:
1) I have one large header image but this doesn't work well with responsive layout. Is there a way I could divide the image so that logo would be in one position and the images in another, so that the responsive image would only load the logo? Or is there a way to override the header image in the responsive layout to a text logo only?

2) The responsive layout e.g. on an iphone. If you view in landscape and then turn phone to portrait the site doesn't resize - it looks like this, all squished up to the left - can this be resolved?

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Alisoin

1. One option is to create a new module position in the header area of your template to accommodate your images (http://www.joomla51.com/tutorials/item/creating-a-new-module-position-in-the-header-area-of-your-template). You can then hide this module on mobile devices by adding the following to the Custom CSS field of yor templates parameters..

@media only screen and (max-width: 959px) {
#newmodule {display :none;
}

2. Updating the template to the latest version will amend this.

Hi Ciarán

OK - the new module position works great. Thank you.

However, updating the template hasn't helped the responsive layout and it's also broken my slideshow and the dropdown menus are changed too and look wrong!

So, the mobile view sticks to the RHS of the screen if you start off in landscape and rotate to portrait as before.

And if you visit http://www.t2t2.test.gridhosted.co.uk/index.php you can see that the dropdown items from the main menu have gone funny (they used to be like the demo template at http://demo.joomla51.com/?theme=PianoForte) and the slideshow has gone - although if you look carefully the arrows left and right to scroll through the slideshow are there.

What have I done wrong to break all this?!?! Would really appreciate help fixing these things.

Thanks
Alison

Thank you Alison

The width issue should be now amended.

Regarding the dropdown and slideshow could I ask you for temporary FTP access to the template folder of your Joomla installation so we can examine your core templates files after the upgrade.

Alternatively upgrading to the latest version of Joomla will give you access to the template files via your Joomla administration.

Hi, believe I can ask this question here, since it's also about the responsive layout of the Pianoforte template.

Is it possible to re-order the position columns for the template responsive layout?
On my phone, the Responsive layout of PianoForte displays the site like this:

Header
Sidecol-a
Sidecol-b
Content
Footer

It is the 'Content' area I would like to have in between left & right columns. Would like to reorder this, so it displays like this:

Header
Sidecol-a
Content
Sidecol-b
Footer

My templates Layout settings are set to 'S-C-S', but these only effect the desktop layout I presume?

Hello

May I suggest the following post on this query... http://www.joomla51.com/forum/8-commercial-templates/5068-calibra-changing-the-responsive-layout#9990

You may need to edit the order of the modules slightly in the code as this will place both side columns modules under your component area on mobile devices.
