I have several sites with Joomla 4.2.3 and Nina (v1.1.8 version) and they work well on PHP 8.0. I tried upgrading to PHP 8.1 and they work OK except for an error with a PHP Warning. It says (repeatedly)

[12-Oct-2022 00:28:21 UTC] PHP Deprecated: htmlspecialchars(): Passing null to parameter #1 ($string) of type string is deprecated in /home/cobentjd/public_html/templates/j51_nina/html/layouts/chromes/mod_standard.php on line 18

I can ignore the warning but errors mount up - even warning errors - so I reverted to PHP 8.0 It's only a minor bug but it would be good for it to be fixed. One day I will want to go to 8.1. Thanks.

Hello

May I suggest sending temporary administration access to your Joomla installation to info@joomla51.com and we will examine this issue further. For our reference please paste a link to this post in your email.

I am getting this error too when «error reporting» is set to «maximum» in the Global Configuration. I think this will be fixed in a future version of this template. In the meantime I suggest switching «error reporting» off.

I saw that there is a new version of Nina - 1.1.11 - so I installed it. The error is now changed to:

[18-Oct-2022 22:02:39 UTC] PHP Deprecated: md5(): Passing null to parameter #1 ($string) of type string is deprecated in /home/cobentjd/public_html/libraries/src/Document/Document.php on line 634

Looks minor but needs to be fixed - I did email admin access but this would be a low priority.

Hello

Thank you for the update. Strangely this error does not appear to be coming from the template. Is the error present with all pages?

I guess I'm showing limits in my Joomla Knowledge. The errors I was referring to are only in the error log file and not on any pages. Further, with the update to version 1.1.11, the errors were only warning of deprecated code and not anything visible, the word "Warning" was not even used, and ALSO did not specifically reference the template - see error message above after template update. My error reporting was on default and per recommendation by Crimie, with it changed to "Simple", the error log has now gone. Problem solved. Thank you for your update of Nina which fixed the original problem.
