I am using Google Lighthouse to check for performance, etc.
What keeps coming up in most of my sites is that we are using a library that is out of date -- jQuery@1.12.4

Is this a template issue / setting or a Joomla setting?

How do we fix it?

The site is very simple and doesn't even use a lot of extensions.

Website is: https://www.ovatech.net/

Hello

Unfortunately, this is the version of jQuery that Joomla is shipped with. One option would be to use a plugin like jQuery Easy (https://extensions.joomla.org/extension/jquery-easy/) which allows you to change the jQuery version. I believe there is also an option there to disable it entirely.

According to this post on github it says the jquery issue has been fixed as of J3.9.0

https://github.com/joomla/joomla-cms/issues/19464

My site is on J3.9.8 so shouldn't that be fixed? Where can I get more help on this since it's not a template issue

Hello

Sorry to say, the issue posted and it's subsequent pull request (https://github.com/joomla/joomla-cms/pull/20660) does not update jQuery. It just fixes the XSS security vulnerability in jQuery 1.x.
