Sorry to ask for help on the moomenu issue. I've read every post on the subject and think I've covered most of the details but I must still be missing something.
J51 Oxygen free - Joomla 3x

Problem:
Mouse over causes color change on category text, but dropdown list doesn't display. I have to physically left click to select. Clicking category text brings up Category Heading with Articles listed below in place of the Autson Slideshow box.

*Module Manager- I have ensured to have the menu module set up correctly in particular adding moomenu to the Menu Tag ID field of the menu modules parameters (Extensions -> Module Manager ->[mymenu]).
*Menu Module type= Menu
*I have enabled Show Sub-menu Items.

*Menu Manager- Title= [mymenu], Menu Type= list, Desc= list articles
*Menu Items- 6 items all Menu Type= Category List

This is my first attempt at building a site using Joomla or even php. I haven't written html since 1995! Thank you for your help, and your beautiful template.

Hi Dean

You don't appear to have any sub items for a dropdown on any of the parent items of your menu. These sub items have to be created via your Menu Manager (Menus -> [YourMenu]). Sorry to say having a menu item linking to a category does not automatically create sub items to that menu item linking to the items within your category.

Thanks Ciaran,
Sorry for my ignorance here. It's still a bit confusing for me. I'll see if I can get this menu path structure figured out.

Should I change my Menu Items type from "Category List" to something else ie: "Single Article"?

OK, I get it. Duh!!!
Ciaran, I looked under your tutorials and saw "Creating sub-menu items for your dropdown menu". The tutorial is designed for an older version of Joomla, and threw me off for a bit, but you can get the drift.
I'm using Joomla 3x.
I didn't realize I needed to make "New Item Menus" (which are just pages that were created in Article Manager). Next, for my case, I selected "Single Article" for the "Menu Item Type". I then selected the article under "Select Article". Lastly, and most importantly, under the "Parent Item" I chose the "Menu Item" I wanted the article to drop under.

Sorry for using up your time on this very newbie mistake, but thank you so much for your quick response.
