Novation - Split Menu?

Hi,
Can I set split menus somehow? I would like to use sidecol-a or sidecol-b to display top menu child items, if possible.
I`m using joomla 2.5.6

Hi Juan

Presuming I understand you correctly have you considered creating a second menu of the child items on your top menu and then linking this to a menu module in the sidecol-a/sidecol-b module position?
