Hi there!

I am just updating a site to use the Novation template that I just purchased and I found that when I switch to that template, I get edit icons appearing but I can't actually click them to edit the page. Switching back to a different template fixes the problem but of course I would like to use the Novation which looks so good. I double checked the user has permissions to edit the page and the actual edit icon does appear, I just can't click it.

I should add that I am using the 2.5 install files on a fully updated 2.5 installation. I am planning to migrate to Joomla 3 but the current old template is not compatible with 3. So my plan is to get the styling right with 2.5, then migrate to Joomla 3 and upload the Novation J3 files over the top. I am worried that if I move to Joomla 3 with this editing problem that my editors won't be able to edit the site.

Do you have any suggestions as to why the icons will appear but are not clickable? I've tried Ctrl-F5 many times.

Thank you!

Tim

If you let me know when you would like to look at it, I'll re-apply the template as active on my site and give you details for an editor account I made for you so you can login and see what the symptoms are. I need to keep the template off in the meantime so the editors can update the site if they need to.

Thank you Tim

Just having a look now. Is this issue on any particular page? With a particular browser? Using FireFox we do not appear to be having any issue editing your articles.

Hi Ciaran,

Yeah, I described in my email that it is happening using Chrome. I can edit them in Internet Explorer but nearly all of the editors use Chrome so it's a bit of a problem. This is the first time I have had an issue with any of your templates in Chrome. I have tested it on other computers using Chrome with the same results - ie it's not a cache issue on my particular computer.

If you need backend access to investigate further, please let me know. I'm still looking at source as well and nothing stands out to me why this would happen.

Ah my apologies. So you did!

To resolve could you try adding the following to the end of your templates nexus.css (../templates/j51_novation/css/nexus.css)...

#hornav {
height: 40px;
}

It appears the hornav div may be overlapping the edit icon in Chrome.
