It's probably really obvious, but how do I get text to appear in the module position like you've done with the disclaimer and address. I can put a menu into the module position just fine, but I can't for the life of me work out how to just put simple text.

Okay, one noob to another. If I'm wrong, the experts will correct. Make 3 Custom HTML modules and put them in one row, such as: Base1a, Base1b, Base1c, depending on your template position names, of course. They will spread out to 3 equally sized boxes. In the Custom HTML module, you use your text editor to type in your text. The basic one works. You can also download JCE which most everyone does, it seems.

Extensions/Module Manager/New/Custom HTML
assign a menu item (which page)
select position
custom output - where you type, or put images, links, etc.
