Nocturne IE8 Problems

I am having an issue with my recently developed website, links aren't linkable in my directory, links pages etc. I have tried to switch to other templates and the problem doesn't appear. Odd thing is that it works in IE9 and IE10 as well as Firefox. Is there something I am missing or could try to get this working in IE8? I am running Joomla version 2.5.11
