I have two further questions to this template:

I don't want to show any text under the module (no start-page). is this possible?
And how can I make the space between showcase and main menu smaller?

1. Have you been able to resolve this issue? Presuming I understand you correctly, we are unable to notice any text under your module?

2. To remove the space above your menu try adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters...

#container_slideshow {

    margin-bottom: 0;

}
