When I enter a script at "Body Custom Code", it appears in the page source. But code I enter at "Head Custom Code" does not appear.
view-source:https://selamusic.at/
This code should appear, it is inserted in the Head Custom Code field:

<script defer data-domain=„selamusic.at“ data-api=„/plausiblestats/api/event“ src=„/plausiblestats/js/script.js“></script>

Hello

Can you confirm that your data-api and src attributes are pointing to the correct URL It might be a good idea to change each of these with a full URL (eg. https://selamusic.at/plausiblestats/js/script.js).

I always include the code this way and it works perfectly everywhere else. It is the recommended procedure for Plausible Analytics and I have of course set up the corresponding folder in the root.
For example, it works here (Layla, Joomla 3): view-source:https://www.hausdeskindes.info/

And it also works if I write the code into the "Body Custom Code" field, but not for "Head Custom Code".

Hello

Where on your site in is your scipt.js been stored? For example in your hausdeskindes.info site, it is stored here... https://www.hausdeskindes.info/plausiblestats/js/script.js

The same path on your new site appears to be timing out (https://selamusic.at/plausiblestats/js/script.js).

Sorry to lean backwards into this conversation, but I have the same problem: Adding Matomo tracking code into 'Head Custom Code' does not work at all, adding the same code into the 'Body Custom Code' works fine, inserts right before the closing body, as it should.
My 2 cents: this is a bug.

Hello

I have just updated our Nina Joomla 4 template, ensuring that both custom code fields are not affected by any filtering. I hope that this should resolve this issue.

For details on updating your template may I suggest the following article.. https://joomla51.com/tutorials/joomla-basics/updating-your-joomla-template

I am having the same issue with the Kaylee J4 template. I have the following in the Head Custom Code (file name has been changed for security):

<script src="https://kit.fontawesome.com/idfilename.js" crossorigin="anonymous"></script>

In the front end, I am not seeing this in my <head>
