Hello

Strangely we are unable to replicate either of these issues. May I suggest sending temporary administration access to your Joomla installation to info@joomla51.com and we will examine this issue further. For our reference please paste a link to this post in your email.

Hi Balmmnd77, hi Ciaran.

Did you get it to work?
I am having the same issue with the Nina J4 thumbsgallery.
I downloaded the latest version and can't do anything with the thumbsgallery, I get "Class 'Joomla\CMS\filesystem\folder' not found" anytime I try to get ner the thumbgallery (editing it, creating a new one...).

I have only installed the latest Nina J4 sample, no other extensions.
Anyway to make it work?

Kind regards.
Damien.

Out of pure curiosity, I had to try this out. I have a page on my localhost that I am working on at the moment. Joomla 4.0.4 / Nina 1.0.3 (yeah, I know, not the latest, but ...). I installed the module and it did not complain. Then I gave a folder some images to eat and configured the module to be displayed in bottom-1a. I can switch between PHP 4.7.25 and 8.0.8 and regardless what PHP version I select, it works.
Sooo I have no idea why it does not work for you. I attach 2 screenshots to prove that I'm not dreaming.

After what you said, I tried it locally too with Wampserver and it works with PHP 7.4.0 / 7.4.26 and 8.0.13.
Then, on the online server, I installed Joomla 4, then Nina J4 template, then mod_j51thumbsgallery_j4...and it doesn't work, I get the same error message.
I tried it with PHP 7.4.24 and 8.0.11.

Ciaran, any idea what that could be?
It is getting a bit frustrating to spend so much time trying to make something that should be working...work

I can confirm that. I installed the module on a site that runs J51 Nina, and it worked. I then went and installed the module on a site that has only Cassiopeia installed and I get the same error as you.

Hello

May I ask, In the scenarios where this issue is present, was your Joomla installation an upgrade from Joomla 3 or fresh Joomla 4 installation?

Hi Ciaran,
in my case, both sites were newly set up Joomla 4 installs that had additionally JCE editor, Akeeba Backup, Convert Forms and JCH installed. One of them also had JoomShopping running, but this was the one with Nina as the template. The one I had problems was NOT running Nina, but Cassiopeia.

P.S. The funny bit is, I tried again and noticed that the site running Cassiopeia was claiming 2 tables not being checked in. I checked these in and voilĂ , thumbsgallery was behaving normally.

Hi Ciaran.

Both times there was no Joomla 3 involved.
I tried it 2 differents ways.
- The first one, I installed the J51_Nina_DemoInstaller
- The second one, I installed Joomla 4, then Nina J4 template, then mod_j51thumbsgallery_j4

All from the latest pack available for Nina J4.

Kind regards.

Hi Ciaran.

As of curiosity, I downloaded the files and datebase of the site where thumbsgallery has an issue and install it locally (Wampserver) and thumbsgallery...works.
I am using exactly the same files/database.

Probably nothing to do with it, but for the site where thumbgallery doesnt work, I have a "warning" in Joomla.
"The PHP temporary folder is not set."

Hello

Unfortunately, we are still having little luck in replicating this issue however I am pretty sure the following update should resolve the issue as it bypasses the offending field type.

Hello Ciaran, hello Damien,

I have the same error with J51_thumbsgallery in Nina in J4.

Where do I find the update that you mention?

Best regards,

Good morning Ciaran,

I have installed the J51_ThumbsGallery update and now I can set the module. So no more error.

Unfortunately the gallery doesn't show. I see only the module's name but no thumbs. It seem that it doesn't create the thumbs...

Any thoughts?

Hi Ciaran.
I think I got carried away a bit too fast.
I installed the update and then was able to access the existing module (the one from the Demo Installer), or "create" a new one...but...it actually doesn't show on the site. I can have the name of the module, but that is it, no gallery, no thumbnails, just like GF (message above). :(

Dear Ciaran,

I have installed the update from https://www.joomla51.com/forum/j4-thumbs-gallery-not-working-correctly-nina-template?start=20#reply-40324 . Now I do not see an error any more. But the gallery is still not shown for me.
I tried it with this modules in the attachements.
This is the url of the test page, where I only see the titles of the modules: https://womostellplatzelche.astrid-guenther.de/
