Hi,

I'm just updating our website to this module, but I'm finding there's no showcase module position for the layer slideshow module.

Can you please advise if I'm missing something.

Thanks,

Euan

Hi Euan

The Maomi template demo uses the LayerSlideshow module in the showcase area. You will find an install file for this module in your template download (mod_j51layerslideshow.zip).

Hi Ciaran,

Thanks for that, I've got the layer showcase module and I've installed it. The issue that I'm having is to do with the module position. In the dropdown menu there's the showcase module position. If I choose that, it's not shown on the site. If I choose position Showcase 1a it shows, off to the side. Looking at the Module Positions jpeg I noticed there was no Showcase module position which is usually below the Logo, IIRC.

Thanks,

Euan

Hi Euan

In more recent template releases we have replaced the showcase module position with showcase-1#. Would you have a URL to an example of the module displaying to the side?

Hi Ciaran,

I've just enabled in position Showcase-1a at http://www.oceanoptometry.ca

I have module positions in the dropdown for Showcase-1(a to f) and Showcase.

Thanks,

Euan

Thank you

Does the following Custom CSS resolve this issue?...

.layerslideshow .img-fill img {
min-height: 100%;
min-width: 100%;
max-width: 100%;
}

Custom CSS can be added to the Custom CSS field of your template settings.

I am unable to see the suggested CSS in your source. Can you confirm that you have added the CSS to the correct field and template style?

Sorry, I put it in and it didn't make a difference, so I took it back out.

I've put it back in now.

Cheers,

With the suggest CSS, this is how we are seeing your site... https://screenshots.firefox.com/9iYvUlLkO9suAapN/www.oceanoptometry.ca

Hi Ciaran,

That's the same as what I'm seeing now - the only thing is that then stretches the whole image across the screen.

So trying to play with the sizing, if I change your code to:

.layerslideshow .img-fill img {
min-height: 100%;
min-width: 50%;
max-width: 80%;
}

Then the problem recurs. I've left it that way for the time being.

What I'm thinking to try to achieve (and I think this is what you have on your demo server) is to have a subtle background image and then images that "float" elements over it (by using PNG formats with transparency).

Obviously it needs to be centered, though and not stretching the images.

Thanks, as always, Ciaran, I really appreciate the support.

Cheers,

Hi Euan

To replicate the template demo you can set a background image to the showcase area using the General -> Modules/Component Styling -> Showcase-1 Background Image. For the overlaying slideshow, it is how you suggest using the LayerSlideshow module with background transparent PNG images. The center the slideshow, check that the 100% Width option of the showcase position (Module WIdths) tab is set to No.
