I've got a very simple site using MountainPine - was finishing up tonight and went to turn the JEvents-Latest Events module on in the side column position, and the side column will not load on either side. Tried just publishing some sample text via "custom HTML" module to the side column, and still nothing. I do have the showcase, breadcrumb and hornav module positions all assigned and they are all working properly, but the side columns are a no-go. Any suggestions? We were supposed to launch for client review in the AM!

Thanks,
Beth

Have you checked in template settings? In the template manager?

Hi Ciaran, I see that you are the helper around here, :), I have the same problem as the creator of the topic, I load the column, I bought the template mountain pine a few days ago, I tried to solve the problem by reading more threads forum and I found the theme of the two columns.
Note that the code of my template was the one who had managed to put the two columns with "sidecol-a" and "sidecol-b" but nothing worked to the end, makes the new code replaces the old and finally appeared the column, but I have a problem on the part of the "sidecolum" template not load the titles of the modules, I need to resolve the problem as soon as possible. I leave an image to see it. thanks in advance for your answer.

Hi alejo-dg

Sry somehow missed your post yesterday. May I suggest replacing your templates index.php (../templates/j51_mountainpine/index.php) with the attached file (unzip first).

Hi Ciaran, thanks for your help, I listed the titles in the columns, the trouble is that I generates error notifications in the top of the template, says:

Strict Standards: Non-static method JPlugin :: loadlanguage () Should not be Called statically, $ this from incompatible Assuming context in C: \ xampp \ htdocs \ joomlamariscal \ templates \ j51_mountainpine \ index.php on line 3

you can see found in this link: http://k42.kn3.net/83B98CFB0.jpg

If it's worth, I'm using joomla version "2.5.4 spanish" and also as the local host using the xampp version 1.7.4

Hi alejo-dg

This should amend itself once you move your site to a server but in the mean time you can remove the following from the head of the templates index.php (../templates/j51_mountainpine/index.php)

JPlugin::loadLanguage( 'tpl_SG1' );

Thanks - I have the same problem and just uploaded the new index.php file. The menu now appears in the left sidecolumn, but it's Title still doesn't. I do have the module's "Show Title" set to "show"

Not sure if this will help but I found a YouTube video that has a way around the strict standards error, easier than editing a php file.
