Metropolis - intrusive caret in module in sidecolb

I have placed an Editor Login module in sidecol b on the Home page (http://cepsj3test.cloudaccess.net).
I have removed the texts of Register, Forgot your username, Forgot your password; however I am left with a caret(?) > which I do not want.(photo attached)
Is this a Joomla issue or a template issue? Please advise.
