I am using the Florence template in which the main menu is a side menu on the left of the site. Where the menu has no sub-menus, if you click on the menu, it opens the content for that menu. But where there are submenus, if you click on the menu, it only expands, showing the submenus. It doesn't open the content for that menu AND expand the submenus. The only way to get to the content for a menu with submenus is to click on one of the submenus and then use breadcrumbs to go up a level. The site is http://oldwatergardens.com and the menus in particular I'm referencing are YEARS (http://oldwatergardens.com/years) which has a bunch of submenus and RIPPLES (http://oldwatergardens.com/ripples) which is a category blog, and which also has a single submenu. The menu is using hornav and the Menu Tag ID is using moomenu as per the template instructions. I've actually tried it with and without moomenu without any difference being made. In the module settings: Start Level is at 1 and End Level is at All. Show Sub Menu Items is Yes. As mentioned earlier, position is hornav.

Joomla v 3.4.5
Doesn't work in any of the browsers I've tried and all are up to date
Running on shared GoDaddy hosting
I've tested this issue on Beez and the menu works; when you click on Years and Ripples, you get content. It also worked previously when this was a Joomla 2.5 site, so it's a template problem.

Leaving the submenus open all the time isn't an option. The YEARS menu has 11 submenus, one for each year.

You could try removing the following line from your templates scripts.js (../templates/j51_florence/js/ scripts.js line 7)...

$(this).removeAttr('href');

Clicking the parent item will then follow the link.
