I am using the Renovate template
Website http://www.awarehtaf.org

On the main menu, some of the parent menu links point to a page and some do not.

For example the ABOUT menu does not point to a page, there is no link. The HUMAN TRAFFICKING menu points to a page. The problem is the HUMAN TRAFFICKING menu points to the same article as the HUMAN TRAFFICKING DEFINED child menu points to. However the pages are different. That means having to design two pages.

Can I either remove the link on the HUMAN TRAFFICKING menu or can I have it point to the same page as the HUMAN TRAFFICKING DEFINED menu? Both menus share the same article, and I do not want to have to design both pages.

How do I fix this?

Thank you,

Hi Paul

Presuming I understand you correctly you should have no issue linking both menu items to the same article. Simply select the same article within the menu items settings?

They do share the same article, but the article seems to appear on two separate pages.

For example, if I click on the main menu link - HUMAN TRAFFICKING - it will bring me to the article human trafficking defined. On that page there is no top module appearing and no side column.

If I click on the child link HUMAN TRAFFICKING DEFINED - it will also bring me to the same article, human trafficking defined. But on that page, I have a top module with text, and a side column B with photos and text.

Essentially, to have both pages appear the same, I would have to make changes on both pages. That is double work.

Is there a way to disable the HUMAN TRAFFICKING main menu link or have it point to the same page as the child menu link? The ABOUT main menu item does not appear to link to anywhere. This is what is confusing me. How can I disable the HUMAN TRAFFICKING link or get it to point to the same page as the child link

Hi Paul

To disable the HUMAN TRAFFICKING you can simply convert it to e 'Text Separator'. From your Joomla administration navigate to Menus -> [Your Menu] -> HUMAN TRAFFICKING and set the menu item to System Links -> Text Separator.

It is worth noting than in Joomla you would not have to create 2 article which you wioll have to edit. Simply create 2 links linking to the same article (I'm still a bit confused if this is the way you have it or not).

Module are assigned to menu items so you can display the same article on 2 menu items each with different module layouts.
