madison index,follow missed?

Hey

I have 2 sites using madison theme on both the index,follow is not visible in the sourcecode for the site. I have set it right in the configuration. Do Yoo have missed it in the coding og the theme? I have just checked and if I say no index, no follow the code are showing in the source..

Does it not have to been visible for the robots anymore?

Hi René

I am not sure if I understand you correctly. All parameters set in your Joomla configuration are set when installing Joomla. These are parameters that would not be effected by your template.

Hi Ciarán
What I mean is, if I set robots to index, follow in the configuration it's not showed in the "view source" on the site.. But if I set no index, no follow it disapears in the source.. Is that correct, thinking can ex google understand, if it's not there it can index and follow the site?

I am not sure if this would be a template related issue. Is the same issue present if you are using one of the default Joomla templates (Protostar)?

Following is how your meta tag should be effected with each option...

Index, Follow
No robots meta tag is added.

No index, follow
<meta name="robots" content="noindex, follow" />

Index, No follow
<meta name="robots" content="index, nofollow" />

No index, no follow
<meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow" />
