Hello Ciaran,

I have a little issue with the J4 Nina template.
I got 404 errors because of the jarallax.im.js.map is missing.
Referring to this post https://www.joomla51.com/forum/jasmine-template you have given the advice to remove the last line that references to this file but would it be better to add this file to the template? (It can be downloaded on https://cdnjs.com/libraries/jarallax)

Maybe it can be a future request to add a possibility to disable the module background parallax effect by disabling it on the "General/Miscellaneous" options like
"Diasable Parallax effects for module backgrounds"?

I also have an issue with a Layla installation (1.1.5) in which this error occurs:
GEThttps://as-s3c.de/media/templates/media/vendor/joomla-custom-elements/css/joomla-alert.css
which throws an 404 error.

In my installations there is no "/media" folder under /media/templates (only administrator and site) so it might be not a problem of your template but of Joomla itself?
I am not quite sure.
In my case I added the path and the missing joomla-alert.css file so the error is solved but that is only a temporary solution.
Maybe you have an idea to add this to the templates?

Regards
Oliver

Hey Oliver

Yes, It would be no harm in adding the map file however in this case it would have very little use. Map files are only loaded when your browser developer tools are opened and tell you where JS originated from before being compiled. So it is only really used when contributing to the jarallax project. That said :), there is absolutely no harm in having it there so I will add it with the next template update.

Regarding an option to "Disable Parallax effects for module backgrounds", would you suggest this at a global level, disabling the parallax on all blocks or individually with each?

Regarding the Layla joomla-alert.css issue, I have just updated the Layla template with what I hope is a fix. So updating your template to this latest download should resolve this issue for you?

Hello Ciaran,

thank you for your answer: So I have learned something about map files, thank you :)

Parallax Effects: I would suggest to add a yes/no trigger to the General/Miscellaneous area of the templates options.
The background for me for this request was, that I would like to disable loading scripts that are perhaps not necessary, because I will not use parallax effects in one specific webproject.
If I set an trigger to NO for parallax effects the necessary scripts should not be loaded.

What do you think?

Hi Oliver

Thank you for the suggestion and yes that totally makes sense.

I have just created an update for the Nina template adding this option to the General -> Misc tab of the template style settings.
