Hello

May I suggest the following tutorial which details how to convert the search field in to a module position allowing you to use the module of your choice... http://www.joomla51.com/tutorials/item/converting-the-search-field-to-a-module-position

Unfortunately the new login module does not have a editable position field,only a dropdown,and i can't go around it.
Any ideas?

Joomla will allow you to edit the position of any module. Can you confirm for me this is a module and not a plugin? Is the module listed in your 'Module Manager'? If you click 'New' in your 'Module Manager' is your new login module listed?

It is a login module or a search module? Your first post states 'search' while your reply states 'login'.

Hey,it is a seach module
and i got it to work,it was because of the other templates(beez and protostar) that i could not select search position(it defaulted to them

But now i got another problem,the module that displays the results is in position top-1a (just above showcase) ,and when nothing is displayed in it,it still creates 30px of white space between hornav and showcase positions
is there any way i can get rid of the 30px of white space while it is not active?

Hello

Try adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters (edit to taste)...

#container_slideshow {
margin-top: -80px;
}

For the benefit of other forums users we would ask you to create a new post for any further query.

This code is not located in my header.php. Could this be somewhere else with Privilege? Thanks

<?php if($search_onoff == "1";) : ?>
<div id="search">
<?php echo $search; ?>
</div>
<?php endif; ?>

Hello

In the Privilege template, you should find this code in your template's index.php (../templates/j51_privilege/index.php - Line 36).
