Kinvara SlickNav loses background on desktop

When I select the Mobile Menu Type Slicknav, I lose the background image for the regular desktop. It's fine it I set it to SlideOut. I lose
the <div id=body_panel> when selecting SlickNav.

Is there a reason for this behavoir?
