I have a page on an online test environment as a test from J3 to J4.2.5. brought.
The template Riley PHP version is 8.0.20

As far as I can see, all extensions (that are activated) are compatible or updated. That's how it went at first.

Now I have changed the frontend language (latest J4 language version) from English to German (or dutch ,...), and the (home) page has been shot up. The subpages in other menu items work.

Research in the German JoomlaForum brought to light that it has to do with the "Read more" button. Pages where this is displayed are incorrect.

As can be seen in the error, it is readmore.php under the following path:
JROOT/templates/j51_riley/html/layouts/joomla/content/readmore.php:33

if i disable it it works.
There may be errors or ovverides not adjusted.

Can you take a look at this please?

Link: Home (report bugs max and debug is on)

In the backend there are no problems with the language changeover, only in the FE

Thank you

The /templates/j51_riley/html/layout/joomla overrides appear to have been from the Joomla 3 template and should have been removed when you installed the Joomla 4 version of the template. I have deleted this folder and all appears to now work without issue. For Joomla 4, the RIley template largely uses the core layout views.

If I understand you correctly, should I have deleted the entire "joomla" folder before installing the new J4 template or updating Joomla to version 4?

Hello

A good practice is to delete the override/html folder of your template (/templates/j51_riley/html/) before installing the Joomla 4 version of the template however this should be done automatically when installing the update.
