I have 3 joomla sites still using J3. (These are client sites).

The sites are alerting me in big bold that I need to update to J4, but I cannot until I have the updated version of the template. These are still on the list to be converted and a number above them on the list that are past their expect conversion date. I need to get this arduous J4 conversion process done which requires a staging site, and figuring out what plugins conflict. Sure would like to get this job behind me. Any advise?

What I am trying to find out about Privilege. It was on the list prior. Thinking it might need an entire new workup. I was able to update extensions and plugins. The only thing I am worried about is updating php to 8.1 which is for J4. 8.0 expires in November. I'm trying to get help from Joomla forum as well.

I still haven't received a reply to this. I really need to know what to do about my templates that are no longer on the list for upgrading from J3 to J4. It seems strange and quite concerning that there is no reply to this. If it's not to be released in any kind of appropriate timing, are we to redo sites with another template??? Which ones are most compatible to

Metropolis

Hello

Each of these templates is over 10 years old and are proving particularly difficult to keep in line with both Joomla 4 and modern development practices in general. It is proving impossible for us to provide an accurate estimate on when they will be available for Joomla 4. Templates that have been discontinued will be updated to Joomla 4 after all templates in our current catalog. The only consolation I can offer is that we are continuing to try and fulfil our promise updating all our templates to Joomla 4 daily.

Thank you for the update. This helps. Can we opt for another template that has been updated already using the discount codes provided? I can't wait any longer to update a couple of my accounts. They need to get done. The optional code I tried didn't work. Is there a deadline on how long the codes work, OR does it not work if you haven't a history of having purchased it previously. I would elect to just apply another template. Is this an option?

Thank you

Glen

Ciaran,

I know you are very busy and was told something similiar by some of the joomla experts in the forum, that because the templates are so old. I have other templates I have purchased and might need to use one of these or just purchase a new one and transfer my content over.

But, it seems according to Joomla forum, I have some time to continue using J.10.12 that as long as my extensions are updated, there is no imminent security risk. So i will continue where I am because I have a big marketing campaign I need the site (template to be up). I'll probably get the other site up more quickly.

Thanks.. please keep us updated.

Hi Glen

I realise I may no have answer a question...

Can we opt for another template that has been updated already using the discount codes provided?

As long as you are subscribed to the Joomla 3 version of a template, the discount code will apply to your Joomla 4 purchase of the same template.

Ciaran,

Thought I'd check in again.. just to see if Privilege will be updated? Is it one of the difficult templates? Is it something I can do with instruction? There are some joomla developers offering to help update these older templates. is this double? I am just trying to keep from moving so much of my website, several pages and content to something else. I put a lot of work into it. Please let me know. Thanks

Hello

Sorry to say we have no exact date on when the Privilege template will be available for Joomla 4. As it is one of our oldest templates, it will be one of the last templates to be updated.

well this is very disappointing to say the least. I have spent a lot of time on my site and never thought a site's design could be out of style. If you do not decide to upgrade the template is this putting my site at risks?

Is it possible for me to have someone else do it, or can only the developer upgrade?

I'll be forced to start an entirely new design and I have a lot of info to start all over.

Wow.

Hello

Regrettably, we cannot indefinitely update these older templates with each new Joomla release, which currently occurs every two years. This specific template, being over a decade old, presents significant challenges to modernize due to the extensive changes since its inception. While we aim to eventually upgrade it to Joomla 4, it is not a top priority at the moment, and we cannot commit to a specific release date.

We take pride in our unique position among template clubs for even attempting to refresh templates of such age.
