Hi Ciaran

I am using J51_ThumbsGallery 1.2 together with J51_Layla 1.1.4.

A number of preview images is upside down and some are tilted by 90 degrees. It is only the preview images whose orientation is wrong. The full size images are ok. I did delete the cache and I also deleted the subfolder «thumbs». Nothing changes.
Then I tried:
- download one of these images via FTP
- open it with my graphic app
- save it without having changed anything, since the orientation was already ok
- upload the image again
- delete Joomla cache, browser cache and the subfoder «thumbs»
Now the preview image's orientation was ok.
So I ended up with doing the same procedure with any of the images with wrong orientation.
Then I delete Joomla cache, browser cache and the subfoder «thumbs» again.
To my greatest surprise, some of the images previously corrected are again upside down or tilted by 90 degrees.

What can I do?
Thank you and kind regards
Chris

Your assumption was correct. I removed the EXIF metadata and the orientation is now ok. These photos were taken with an IPhone and whenever I have issues like this, IPhone photos are involved. It is a nuisance.

Thank you and kind regards

Hi Chris

It sounds like your images orientation is been saved in the EXIF metadata. Have you an option to save the image orientation without using EXIF as the thumbs gallery module does not honor it?
