We have purchased theme Maya from Joomla51 and we would like to continue using it with Joomla 6. What can we do to make sure that the theme is compatible with Joomla 6 or is there some patch which has been released by J51 team to help it run on Joomla 6. Please let us know.

Thanks

Hi,

According to the official Joomla51 website, the Maya template is currently listed as compatible with Joomla 4 and Joomla 5 only. I'm not aware of an official Joomla 6 version being available yet.

Unfortunately, Joomla51 has been experiencing support issues for quite some time, and official updates appear to have become very limited.

The good news, however, is that older Joomla51 templates can often be adapted to work with Joomla 6.

I've already successfully migrated and modernized several Joomla51 templates, including Emani, for Joomla 6 using ChatGPT.

These templates now run natively on Joomla 6 without requiring the **"Behaviour – Backward Compatibility 6"** plugin.

The process involved updating deprecated PHP functions, template settings, and various Joomla-specific components.

I haven't migrated the Maya template myself yet, but I'd be happy to take a look at the existing version and see what changes would be necessary to make it compatible with Joomla 6.

If you need any assistance, I'd be happy to help.

Best regards,
Marcel
