Hi Ciaran,

Yet another J4 issue I am afraid.

If you go to the link above and scroll down to Meet the Trustees you will see that the images are too large and overlap below the footer so are not displayed.

If you go to the link above and scroll down you can see how it looks on the live site.

Both sites use exactly the same images.

However I have noticed on the J4 site that when I add the image, in the slide image identification field it adds extra code at the end. So instead of just being, for example, "images/trustees/Trustees_image_Malcolm_a_200_202.jpg" it is in fact "images/trustees/Trustees_image_Malcolm_a_200_202.jpg#joomlaImage://local-images/trustees/Trustees_image_Malcolm_a_200_202.jpg?width=200&height=200". Also it is not possible to delete this extra code, I can highlight it but the delete or backspace key are not active and will not get rid of it.

Not sure if this is causing the problem or whether it is something else, but if you could please investigate?

Hi Gary

There appears to be a max height set within your slideshow module settings of 200px. Does removing the max height resolve the issue?

Assuming you wish to display the images in their original, you may wish to use the rotator module (attached) instead. The slideshow module is better suited for full width images.

Hi Ciaran,

Well removing the 200 automatically sets it at 600 which does get more of the image showing (although the footer still overlaps the bottom) but it is still much larger than the J3 version which was set at 200 which I had just copied as it works fine in J3.

What about that extra code which shows in the slide image identification?

You forgot to attach the rotator module and I can't see it in the J51_Jasmine_J4 install files folder.

Have you defined any size attributes in your media manager for these images?

No size attributes defined in media as they are all 200 x 200 px images so they should just display as that shouldn't they?

Thanks for the rotate module I will experiment with that when I have time but am just about to go away for a few days.

Hi Gary

I am assuming these attributes are been set by the metadata feature now included with the Joomla 4 media manager. There is a somewhat related issue open in Joomla core on this item that questions the validity of this URL here... https://github.com/joomla/joomla-cms/issues/35871

Hi Ciaran,

I checked out that link but must admit the majority of it is above my head!! However there does seem to be some heated discussion about it. So I am not sure whether this is causing the problem or not and, if it is, how do we get around it?

Still havn't checked out the rotate module but will get to it soon.

Hi Gary

Admittedly I dont think these attributes are causing the issue for you. Because of the nature of the LayerSlideshow, images are increased in size to fill the area provided. For smaller images, this may cause some cropping. I think the best solution would be to use the Rotator module as the images would be displayed as is,
