Hi Ciaran

Despite the setting «Load custom.css = Yes» the custom.css is not being loaded. Writing the code to the «Custom CSS» field is ok though.

Thank you and kind regards
Chris

Hi Chris

I suspect this issue is similar to https://joomla51.com/forum/j4-emani-no-custom-css#reply-41804

I have just created an update for the Emani template where the inheritable table gets updated on install which should hopefully resolve this issue. For details on updating your template may I suggest the following article.. https://joomla51.com/tutorials/joomla-basics/updating-your-joomla-template

If the issue persists after updating, may I suggest sending temporary administration access to your Joomla installation to info@joomla51.com and we will examine this issue further. For our reference please paste a link to this post in your email.

Hi Ciaran

J51_Emani_J4 Version: 1.1.3 does not resolve the issue. I have another website with J51_Emani_J4 Version: 1.0.4. Here we have a line

<link href="/templates/j51_emani/css/custom.css" rel="stylesheet" />

With J51_Emani_J4 Version: 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 this line is missing.
I send administration credentials to your email address.

Thank you and kind regards
Chris

Hi Chris

I have copied your custom.css to your templates media folder and it appears to be now loading without issue. Note that since Joomla 4.1, template CSS should load from the media folder instead of the template folder.

Good to know. I am not yet acquainted to this new standard.
CSS files in the media folder are not usual with any J51 templates are they?
How do I find out which template's default has been changed?
I guess «try and error»?

Thank you and kind regards

Hi Chris

The change to storing assets in the media folder is a change that came about in Joomla 4.0 however this has been forced in Joomla 4.1 if the template is to support child template which is true for all our Joomla 4 templates.

The issue you are having is caused by an issue in Joomla (https://github.com/joomla/joomla-cms/issues/37057) where the database does not always get updated when updating a template. Everything is fine on a fresh install. You can fix this manually by setting the #_template_styles->inheritable value in your database to 1.

With Emani we have added a script in the template to update your database for you. With a little further testing we hope to add this script to all our Joomla 4 templates.
