I have recently downloaded this template and would like to remove the 'Sunshine' background, replacing it with white. Can you tell me ho to do this please? Sorry I am fairly new to Joomla.

Also, what code would I need to change to get the logo centre. Site is: http://www.magicbeansmedia.tv

Thanks in advance.

Hi Sue

If you are familiar with Photoshop and working with slices you can use the source PSD included with your template. Alternatively tell us which style you intend to use with your site and we will post the header image here with the 'sunshine' removed.

You can reposition the logo you can use the X & Y position fields within your templates parameters (Extensions -> Template Manager -> J51_Avenue -> Logo)

Hi

Thanks for the response. I don't have Photoshop at home, so if you could send me the header image without the Sunshine and just a white background I'd really appreciate it. I am using the Style 1 - Pink (is that what you mean?).

I have played with the positon fields and got it nearly centre... any idea what value X has to be to be centre?

Many thanks

Sue

Sorry, one other question. If I'd like to add a You Tube social media icon on the left, who do I go about doing it?

Really sorry, but can I just ask a couple of other questions?

How do I hide the details, categories, hits etc on the single article template? I have tried hiding most things and saving but it all still appears?

How do I change the width of the article itself (and why is the URL funny)?

Find attached your templates header.jpg with the rays removed. Use this file to replace the original at http://www.magicbeansmedia.tv/templates/j51_avenue/images/style1/header.jpg

Centring your image would depend on the size of the logo image you are using so there is no definitive value as centre.

A popular option for the social media icons is to edit your youtube icon into the templates social media sprite replacing one of the original icons.

You will find the sprite located at the following..

Thank you so much Ciaran. I can't seem to find the templates/j51_avenue folder that lets me access the images. Can you advise?

How are you trying to access the images?

The best way to access this image would be via FTP access to your Joomla installation.

Sorry Ciaran, I went through Extension manager and uploaded the template. I havent managed to find out how I upload the revised psd file you kindly did for me, or where to find the other images. They aren't in media manager. Do I simply upload the individual files in extension manager and will they replace the existing one?

Unfortunately your 'Media Manager' will only give you access to Joomlas ../images folder. Your template is stored out side of this folder (../templates). To access all of Joomlas files and folders you can use FTP access to your server using an FTP client (http://filezilla-project.org/) and FTP access details which should be available from your hosting provider.

Hi

Two pieces of advice please:
1) I changed the SM Icons to include YouTube but a) it shows the RSS icon and b) when you hover over it it still says MySpace. Can you please advise (attached is the PNG file I updated.

2) I would like to remove the entire background with the exception of the 'ribbon' so it is just a plain white background. How can I do this please?

Thanks in advance

Hi Sue

In your templates header.php (../templates/j51_avenue/php/layouts/header.php) replace the following (line 15)..

<li class="nav_myspace"><a href="/<?php echo $this->params->get('nav_myspace'); ?>" title="MySpace"></a></li>

With...

<li class="nav_myspace"><a href="/<?php echo $this->params->get('nav_myspace'); ?>" title="YouTube"></a></li>

For the background you will find included with your purchase the source PSD file which you can use to edit the background images of your template. Some knowledge of Photoshop and working with slices would be required.

Hi

I am still having trouble getting the YouTube logo to show. I've updated the sms_icons.png and replaced the MySpace logo with the YouTube logo (position 4) but when I uploaded it, it isn't showing. Any idea why?

I can't thank you enough for your help on this.

Hi Sue

If you are still seeing the old icons ensure you are replacing the original icons image when uploading.

Would you have a URL to an example of the icons?

If you wish you can forward temporary administration access to your Joomla installation to info@joomla51.com and we will investigate this further for you.
