Joomla J3 -> J4 update
I installed the Weblinks Componente 4.0.1
This brings an error with the Riley J4 template. If I take the cassiopeia template the error is not.
The error may be in the file:
templates/j51_riley/html/layouts/joomla/content/category_default.php:22
If I rename them to test, it works.

I have attached pictures of the error.

Hey eumel7

Assuming this is the same site, could you include a URL to this post in the requested email from your previous post :)

Yes, they recognized that well. :p
The two forum posts are on the same website.

I just sent the email with the access data. Please note the brief note in the email...
Thank you

Thank you

I am not mistaken, deleting the /templates/j51_riley/html/layout/joomla override appears to have also resolved this issue?

Hello ! Thanks for the answer.
The web links component is now working. BUT:
Unfortunately, I could find at least three other errors compared to the original.
Everything in the big desktop view:
1. Module position Top 1A is shown to the left of Top 1B - Normally this position is on top
2. Position sidecol2a has 3 columns in the original (module thumpgallery) and in the version after your intervention only 2 columns (cannot be switched in the module)
3. The module position bottom-1a has a background image in the settings which is not loaded! (I tried bottom 2a as a test, it doesn't work either. Background image is not inserted.)

Here is the original link to the current J3 page
https://www.dks-ev.de/index.php

Here is the link to the J4 test page:
http://dksjoomla4vorbereitung.dynamofanclub-sayda.de/index.php

Here is the link to the module positions test page J4 (strangely enough, it is displayed correctly there):

Hello

1. On your J3 example there appears to be a width of 100% set on the first module. Is this same width set on the J4 example? (Module Widths tab of your template style settings).

2. To amend try increasing the side column width in the Layout Options tab of your template style settings.

3. Is the background image still defined in your template style settings?

to 1.
No, the settings are all the same in the J3 and J4 versions. The front end doesn't change either, no matter what I set in the "widths" of the Top 1 positions.
In the template preview he accepts the change!! but not in the frontend.
It only works if I take the first module in top 1 and the other three in top 2. I can live with that. But the module position Top 1 is "defective" and cannot be adjusted as you would like after the update to J4.
(By the way, the setting is taken from your original template display from the Riley template...)

to 2.
It's the same here too. I compared all settings with the J3 page before writing this post. All attempts to change these settings are not applied. The template preview also works here! see link, I changed the sidecool value! nothing happens in the frontend.

Regarding 3.
Yes, I compared everything with J3 here too. The image is stored in the correct Template_stile in the correct module position. But it is not displayed. In the template preview like the other two points, all is fine. Frontend view not accepting changes...
These errors only started appearing after deleting the /templates/j51_riley/html/layout/joomla folder.

You are welcome to log in again yourself. I sent you the email with access data on December 13, 2022 at 11:36 a.m. ...

Hi eumel1602

May I suggest sending temporary administration access to your Joomla installation to info@joomla51.com and we will examine these issues further. For our reference please paste a link to this post in your email.

Thank you Marco

These issues should be now resolved. It appears that your Hompage template style was no longer assigned to the homepage.

Thanks for looking, everything worked in the test system afterwards.

Now I've done the "Live" update on the correct website. The known errors did not occur again or I was able to fix them.
But now I have a menu error in the responsive view.
The menu items in the 1st level do not open after a CLICK, but the menu closes again, on the second try you see menu level 2
(The menu in the desktop view works correctly)

Hello

I suspect re-installing your template which will revert any changes to the core template files should resolve this issue for you?

I notice you had sent admin access. I have amended your template and this issue should be now resolved by removing the following from your templates script.js..

  document.querySelector('.mobile-menu')
.addEventListener('mouseup', (evnt) => {
evnt.preventDefault();
drawer.close();
});
