Hi!

I have ordered a template from Joomla51: Metropolis, which I would like to use on my existing web site http://www.hjelptilhjelp.no.
I already have the web site running with an existing template and a lot of modules and plugins.

My question is what I must do to install the new template Metropolis on the site, in a way that makes it possible for me to move the existing modules over to the new template smoothly.
Is is possible to install the new template, keeping the existing template, and then to place one after one module over in the new template?

I hope for some advice on what I must do to achieve a transition to the new template.

Hello

The only real issue you should have in installing your new template is that it is likely to be using different module position names. Once you install your new template and set it as default you will find your modules will disappear. This is simply because your modules are assigned to positions that do not exist on your template. To amend you will have to go in to the settings of each of your modules and and set the position to to one that exists on the template (http://demo.joomla51.com/0098/index.php/features/module-positions). Alternatively you can create a duplicate of each module, assigning it to the new module position, this way the old template can be still used if you need to quickly revert back to it.
