Hello. I have purchased and installed the Willow template. As expected, there is no fully functional + data filled template to use, only a skeleton and necessary modules. So, as instructed in your tutorials, I thought I'd resort to installing the demo data too.

Correct me if I am wrong: unless I reinstall Joomla fully from scratch it is not possible to install a template+sample data set, so that I can reproduce exactly in my site the Willow template demo from your site. The Demo installer is not a package, and when I try to just install it Joomla tells me:

Warning

JInstaller: :Install: Can't find XML setup file.
×
Error

Path does not have a valid package.
Unable to find install package

Thanks for any help.

Hi Andrea

This is true. At present the only way to install the template demo installer is as a new Joomla installation. It is not possible to import the demo content to an existing Joomla installation. Joomla 3.8 will allow us to import data from within Joomla but unfortunately we are not there yet!

Is this still the case - I have only the option to do a one-click install at my web host - and they don't pick up your sample data. I have the Caitlin template which I'm trying to get a handle on.

Hello

Do you have access to your MySQL database (eg. via phpMyAdmin)? If so we can supply you with a database to import for the template demo content.

Hi,

Yes, I do have access to the MySQL database.

I'm assuming that you have instructions to get access to the database?

Thanks,
Flavelle

Hello

Accessing your database would depend on your hosting. Have you access to phpMyAdmin? If so, what is the table prefix to your current Joomla database and we will prepare the database for you to import?

Thank you Flavelle

Please find attached the MySQL database for the Caitlin template. This can be imported via phpMyAdmin.

Once imported ensure to install the template and bundled modules. You will also need to extract the images folder from the demo installer bundled with your template and upload it to your server.

Note that all current content in your Joomla installation will be lost once you import the database

Hi Patrick

It is possible by importing the demo SQL however this will overwrite the current website content. Is this a suitable solution?

Hi Patrick

To find your database table prefix navigate to System -> Global Configuration -> Server

Your table prefix will be in the Database Tables Prefix field.

Hi Mike

The sample data SQL file can be obtained from your templates 'demo installer'. From your template download extracted the demo installer (J51_Beaumont_demoInstaller.zip). Open the 'Sample Data' SQL file (../installation/sql/mysql/sample_data.sql). Using an editors 'Find & replace' tool, replace every instance of #__ with jos_

Hi

I have the same problem. My database "flies" seem to begin with joseq ( which I presume is my database prefix). I had purchased a J51_Lifestyle_ demoinstaller.
Would appreciate your assistance.

Thank you
